Mohali (22G TV)The impact of inflation is heavy on everyone and in such a situation it becomes very difficult to celebrate the festivals. As the price of oil has increased, it has become heavy on the budget to use it in the kitchen itself. In such a situation, lighting oil lamps on Diwali is going to be very expensive. But the students of Phase 11 Infant Jesus Convent School have made such a diya this Diwali which will not only illuminate your Diwali but will also not disturb the budget of the month.
The students of class 9th under the NITI Aayog Atal Tinkering Lab have made such a diya which burns with water. It has been named ‘Water Floating Lamp’. It is not only cheap but also eco-friendly. Harleen Kaur, Ishmeen Kaur, Raghav Saini and Manjapjit Singh of class 9th together made this water-burning diya under the guidance of teachers Rakhi Manohar Vidhate (ATL INCHARGE), Jasdeep Kaur and Ussama Siddique Mentor from Chandigarh Institute of Drones.
Praising the students, Principal of the School Sr. Vanitha Veena said “the students have displayed creativity. We always encourage exploration in our school students so that they are well prepared to solve global problems.” The cost effective diya is just Rs.20 only.
