Chandigarh, December 24, 2022 (22G TV) Chandigarh Club, located in Sector 1 organised a unique Xmas celebration for the visually impaired. As part of this the screening of movie ‘83’ in audio described format – which means that the film’s audio had been specially done for the benefit of the visually impaired, was held. This had explanatory audio commentary in segments that had only ambience sounds. ‘Divine Eyes,’ a music group of visually impaired artists, also enthralled the audience. The event also signalled the start of Countdown 2023 – the Club’s Xmas and New years celebration.

The musical group performed for nearly 45 minutes. All musicians, vocalists and instrument players were visually impaired. They were from the National Association for the Blind(NAB), a co-partner of the event. The Honorary President of NAB Vinod Chadha was also present.

AR Khan, Secretary, Chandigarh Club, said: “We kick started the celebrations by holding an event that made visually challenged children happy. Chandigarh Club in association with National Association for the Blind (NAB) screened the movie ’83’ in an audio-described format for these children . We also provided a platform to them to showcase their talent. Divine Eyes, a musical group of visually impaired gave the musical performance.”

It was a befitting start to XMas and New Year festivities. The Chandigarh Club thought of doing something for the benefit of the visually impaired. The motive was to help those in need. It turned out to be an evening of enjoyment and entertainment for the visually impaired students. Meanwhile, the band performance left the audience in awe of the talent of the visually impaired band members.

The highlights of Countdown 2023 will be famous Punjabi singer of ‘Dil Le Gayi Kudi Gujarat Di’ fame Jasbir Jassi’s live performance on December 31st night , a performance by ghazal maestro Talat Aziz, who will be performing on December 28 from 7.30 pm onwards and a lot more. On 25th December a X-Mas Bumper Tombola is planned from 11: 30 am onwards and in the evening from 7.30 pm onwards Rudraksh Band will be performing live.
